Undeniable – Episode 1
Episode 1 is about the capturing of impromptu photos, video footage and sounds when stepping onto beaches for the first time in New South Wales, Australia. The goal being to find the spectacular, the hidden, and the unexpectant.
The beaches in New South Wales are known for being spectacular. Known for their beautiful sunrises and sunsets, crystal clear waters and sparkling white sands.
With the average rainfalls for the months of July and August ranging from 6 to 8 days the photographic trips ended up landing on overcast and or rainy days. There were no colourful sunrises, sunsets or full clear blue skies. The sand was more golden from being wet than the popular pristine white, yet the spectacular still shone through in other unexpectant ways and the beaches stood up to their ‘No Two Days the Same.‘
The hidden and the unexpectant

The first hidden and

unexpectant found, the Blue Crab in Yamba
There were artistic arrangements of shells, pebbles, rocks, driftwood, flora and dead remains of marine and land wildlife. Each exhibiting great detail, some perfectly shaped, others quite weathered. The variety of colours, designs and textures so unexpectant, even in very small objects.

ephemeral art
The beach shores displayed lots of ephemeral art from debris washed up by the waves, birds fallen feathers and remains of marine or land wildlife. Marine vegetation such as seaweed artistically seen gathered together in piles or scattered across the sands. All either to be re-collected by the next tide or left to breakdown over time.

A large piece of driftwood, a part of a tree, becomes the focus point against the remote beach landscape.
Do we really see?
When you take the time to look, to really see it is so ‘Undeniable’ that there has to be a divine creator.
The episode challenges:
What do you see?
What do you feel?
What do you smell?
What sounds do you hear?
What do you find?
What is the unexpectant?
What has been learnt?
Who created it?
